NAEMT member Dr. Lou Romig, Medical Director for the Emergency Pediatric Care course, has been appointed by the American Academy of Pediatrics to serve as its representative on the federal EMSC Program’s National Resource Center (NRC) Advisory Council. The NRC helps the EMSC Program improve the pediatric emergency care infrastructure throughout the United States and its territories and provides services designed to proactively assist EMSC grantees, program partners, and family advocates in their efforts to improve all aspects of medical care for children and families in emergencies.
Formed in 2008, the EMSC NRC Advisory Council is a collaborative group of health care professionals, consumer and family advocates, and EMSC grantees convened to advise the NRC on its administrative operations and serve as its sitting expert panel. Dr. Romig specifically will be assisting the NRC as a subject matter expert in pediatric education for EMS providers and pediatric disaster planning and response.
