EMS is uniquely positioned to support our nation’s healthcare and emergency response systems by providing high quality emergent, urgent, and preventive patient care delivered by qualified EMS practitioners trained to assess, treat, and navigate patients to the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
EMS is a distinct and essential service to the public and a fundamental component of our nation’s healthcare and emergency response systems. We believe that funding EMS should be a shared responsibility of local, state, and federal governments as well as commercial insurers. We actively work towards an appropriate and sustainable funding framework for EMS by
-
advocating for appropriate funding for all EMS agencies and practitioners from all delivery models; and
-
educating government and healthcare leaders on the value of EMS to our nation’s healthcare and emergency response systems.
-
Helping EMS agencies to increase their economic strength and resiliency through both revenue enhancements and operational efficiencies.
In addition to advocating to the U.S. Congress and federal agencies, we work with state associations on legislative initiatives, conduct webinars to help EMS agencies navigate through federal and state regulation governing reimbursements, and provide resources that support EMS operational innovation.
