• Cindy Bussell, Meetings and Leadership Services Manager

  

  Cindy Bussell manages the association's meetings, exhibits, leadership travel and governance activities. She has more than 25 years of association management and meetings planning experience. She helped implement a large grant program and was a fundraiser for a charitable organization. A member of the Indiana Society of Association Executives, Cindy holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Ball State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.

• Corine Curd, Manager, North American Education Network

  

  Corine Curd has worked with NAEMT Education’s education programs since 1996. She manages the process of establishing new NAEMT training centers and helps training centers to expand the NAEMT education programs they offer. She also supports the network of NAEMT education coordinators in the United States and Canada. Corine has more than 30 years’ experience in customer service and has a passion to help others.

• Jess Ervin, Education Projects Coordinator

  Jess Ervin has over 15 years of experience in project coordination, resource management, and process development. Over the last several years, Jess has worked with technical specialists to facilitate the creation of highly-curated content for Software Engineers at enterprise clients like Nike and Verizon. Jess also spent over six years coordinating architectural designs and telecommunication tower sites with Los Angeles County and several major telecom companies. She received her bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

• Kathleen “Katie” Herndon, Programs Specialist

  Kathleen “Katie” Herndon, Ph.D., is a nonprofit consultant and seasoned executive director with Association Management Professionals specializing in strategic planning and capacity building. Dr. Herndon has more than 10 years’ experience leading trade associations, nonprofits, and professional networks, including as executive director of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP), Marine Technology Society (MTS), the Virginia Land Title Association (VLTA) and the Maryland Land Title Association (MLTA). Under her leadership, these nonprofits grew membership, expanded organizational capacity, and launched world-class educational initiatives. Katie is the recipient of the 2024 SGMP President’s Award, honoring her leadership and strategic vision.
  

  Dr. Herndon holds a PhD in research psychology, is a certified family mediator, has led numerous research studies in domestic violence prevention and instrument validation, and served as a consular officer with the U.S. Foreign Service in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She’s also the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, speaks four languages and has authored several volumes of fiction and nonfiction books, along with textbooks & courses.

• Nancy Hoffmann, Senior Education Publishing Director

  

  Nancy Hoffmann joined NAEMT in 2017. Her previous work was as a writer and development editor with experience in editorial management, content development, and research. Her background includes work on print and digital medical education textbooks and materials focused on B2B, computer surveillance, allied health, public safety, and healthcare. In her last position she drove the development of an innovative medical education digital product line and managed an editorial board of 30 physicians, instructors, and students. Nancy has worked for a variety of publishing companies, including Jones & Bartlett Learning/Ascend. She received her bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College and Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College.

• Stacy Jackson, Member Services Representative

  

  Stacy Jackson joined the NAEMT team in 2014. As Member Services Representative, Jackson maintains the records of individual and agency members, as well as other individuals with interest in NAEMT, and responds to member inquiries. She also assists the Member Services Manager in providing administrative support to the Membership Committee. Stacy has more than eight years of administrative experience. Prior to joining NAEMT, she worked as an Executive Assistant to a bankruptcy attorney. Stacy holds an Associate's in Business Administration.

• Kim Champi Krenik, Government Relations Director

  

  Kim Krenik worked for many years as the director of Federal Relations for the New Jersey Hospital Association. She represented the interests and concerns of NJHA members and coordinated advocacy efforts within the state and in Washington, DC. Kim attended Congressional briefings and hearings, and helped draft numerous legislative documents and member advocacy updates. She also served as principle for NJHA's HealthPAC and coordinated political fundraisers and events. Before that, Kim worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. She attended the School for International Training in Kenya, Africa, and completed her bachelor's degree at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

• Deb Lally, Executive Director

  Deb Lally has nearly 20 years of association leadership. Based in Massachusetts, Deb most recently served as Executive Director/CEO of AACE International, a professional engineering association. She has also held executive leadership roles at the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and AHRA: The Association for Medical Imaging Management. Prior to that, she spent a decade in the scientific and medical publishing industry. Deb earned the certified association executive (CAE) credential in 2017 and has extensive experience in member engagement, education development, strategic partnerships, and fiscal and resource management. With the NAEMT Board of Directors, Deb works to strengthen NAEMT’s foundational pillars of EMS advocacy, education, and membership. She also works to bolster NAEMT’s relationships with with key stakeholders to advance our mission of representing and serving Paramedics, EMTs, and support personnel at all levels.

• Kristen Lovell, Education Editor

  Kristen Lovell is a career medical writer and development editor with experience working in both print and digital publishing. She has a background in developing and producing educational projects for both the student and professional markets. She is experienced in project management, content development, content editing, and research for medical text and reference books, digital educational products, and is a published medical author of both peer-reviewed and general public health articles. Kristen has worked for Mosby, Inc. and Elsevier, Inc., and has operated her own successful publishing services company for over a decade. She received her bachelor's degree in English from Saint Louis University.

• Kim Mace, Global Education Network Director

  

  Kim Mace has more than 20 years experience in project management, education and meeting planning, financial management, and communications. She has worked for several national healthcare organizations in the Washington, DC area. Kim's educational background includes curriculum development, program accreditation, staff liaison to various committees, and program financial management. She also managed the launch of an LMS system and spearheaded multiple organization reaccreditations. Kim received her bachelor's degree from George Mason University and is a fluent in Spanish.

• Pooja Mehrotra, Education Editor

  Pooja Mehrotra is a development editor and project manager with experience in editorial management, content development, research, and business development. Her background includes conceptualization of creative print and online educational products and symposia at national/state chapter conferences, writing and submitting proposals for funding, and executing projects from start to completion. As part of a medical education set up, she has collaborated internally with medical writers, copy editors, and graphic designers, and externally with key opinion leaders, CME/CE providers, and pharmaceutical companies. She has received a Masters of Science in Physics from St. Stephen’s College.
  

   

• Sylvia Milton, Education Services Representative

  

  Sylvia Milton has worked at NAEMT since 2004. She provides administrative support to NAEMT's education programs, and assists our network of course sites and instructors to ensure the delivery of high-quality continuing education to our students. She previously worked for Fannie Mae Mortgage Loan company and Virginia College. Sylvia studied Business Administration at Belhaven College and received her Associate's Degree in Computerized Office Technology from Antonelli College, graduating with honors.

• Tammie W. Patterson, Membership Development Manager

  Tammie Patterson joined the NAEMT team in 2009. As Membership Development Manager, Patterson supports the association's activities to recruit and retain members, conducting outreach to EMS agencies and NAEMT training centers. She works with NAEMT’s Membership Committee and manages our membership coordinator network. Prior to joining NAEMT, Tammie served as a payroll and scheduling specialist at American Medical Response. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Hinds Community College in Mississippi, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi.

• Jody Phillips, Education Services Representative

  

  Jody Phillips joined the NAEMT staff in 2013. He provides administrative support to NAEMT’s education programs and assists NAEMT’s network of regional and state coordinators for each of our education programs. Prior to working at NAEMT, Jody worked as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher and EMT for American Medical Response. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, and is a Nationally Registered EMT.

• Sandra Raber, Corporate Sales Manager

  Sandra Raber has been managing and expanding NAEMT's Corporate Partner Program since 2017. From prospecting, lead generation, and building relationships, Sandra connects with organizations to provide mutual benefit to the EMS profession. Through targeted marketing and event sponsorship opportunities, she tailors the needs of corporate partners to reach the right EMS audience at the right time. She has deep experience in advertising, national business-to-business sales, and as an entrepreneur. Prior to joining NAEMT, Sandra worked with the revenue streams of major supermarket partners. Sandra has a business degree, fundraises for community events, and networks with diverse sales prospects across the country.

• Keshia Robinson, Service Center Manager

  

  Keshia Robinson has been with the association since 1999 and is responsible for managing NAEMT’s Service Center personnel and activities. Keshia is also responsible for recording and maintaining financial data, generating financial reports, and managing various administrative functions for the association. She holds an Associate's Degree in Human Resource Management from Virginia College, and Computerized Office Technologies from Antonelli College.

• Kathleen Taormina, Marketing and Media Director

  

  Kathleen Taormina is responsible for the association’s robust marketing and communications efforts and media relations. She also oversees corporate partnership, NAEMT events, and membership operations and marketing. With decades of association management experience, Kathleen's career focus has been in the areas of healthcare and technology. She previously worked for the American Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, and has provided communications and marketing services to several other associations and organizations. She holds a bachelor's degree and has advanced training in digital marketing and design applications.

• Melissa Trumbull, Programs and Initiatives Director

  Melissa Trumbull oversees NAEMT’s programs and initiatives, including its national awards program and grassroots advocacy program, and supports the Affiliate Advisory Council and NAEMT’s Lighthouse Leadership Program. She previously worked at Association and Society Management International, Inc., providing association management services to Advocates for EMS, the Citizens CPR Foundation, the Cyanide Poisoning Treatment Coalition, the International Association of Emergency Managers, the National Association of State EMS Officials, and the National Association of Government Communicators. In 2004, she served the Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, where she assisted with the development of the accreditation program and supported accreditation candidates through the process. With over 20 years of experience in nonprofit association management and development, Melissa has expertise in supporting the healthcare, military, and first responder industries through government and stakeholder relations, volunteer management, grassroots advocacy, program and project management, event planning and management, webinar production, and podcast management. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The State University of New York College at Brockport.  She is working towards a graduate certificate in nonprofit management and leadership within the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland. Melissa has also served on many local nonprofit and school boards in leadership roles. She continues to donate her time and expertise to nonprofits serving her local community.
