NAEMT EMS Scholarships

NAEMT is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to Active members to assist them in their professional and career advancement. NAEMT scholarships are sponsored by Page, Wolfberg and Wirth and NPPGov.

Applications accepted (Log into the Member Portal to apply):

  • January 15 – March 15 for programs that begin in August through January. 
  • July 15 – September 15 for programs that begin in February through July 
The following scholarship opportunities are available. 
  • First Responders (to become EMT-Basic) – up to $500 each
  • EMT-Basic (to become EMT-Paramedic) – up to $5,000 each
  • Paramedics (to advance education in the realm of EMS) – up to $2,000 each

Columbia Southern University Scholarships

Exclusive NAEMT scholarship at Columbia Southern University will cover up to 60 credit hours toward one online degree program. The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient’s tuition for up to three years or until the completion of the selected online degree program, whichever comes first. Individuals who have a current paramedic certification could receive up to 30 hours of transfer credit towards one of CSU's EMS degrees.Two scholarships will be awarded each year.

Applications accepted (Log into the Member Portal to apply)

  • March 1 – May 31
  • July 30 – October 31

NAEMT Foundation Scholarships

NAEMT membership is not required! The NAEMT Foundation works to strengthen and build a better future for EMS through funding EMS education and research. The NAEMT Foundation is offering scholarship opportunities to individuals interested in pursuing a career in EMS.

Applications accepted between March 1 and April 30 (closes at midnight EST), and scholarships are awarded in June. A link to apply will be posted within the application period. 


The following scholarships are available for individuals wishing to attend an EMS school or program to become certified as an:

  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Amount of Award: up to $1,000based on the cost of the EMS program and one-year NAEMT student membership.
