Timothy Dienst, MPA, NRP, brings over 40 years of experience as an emergency medical services (EMS) professional, having served as a paramedic in both the private and public sectors. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ute Pass Regional Health Service District in Woodland Park, Colorado. In this role, he has successfully transitioned the District's ambulance services from a not-for-profit corporation to a publicly funded Health Service District. He has also spearheaded several innovative programs, including a pioneering single-provider mobile crisis and behavioral health response support team and a rural community paramedic service.
Chief Dienst holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Passionate about advancing EMS, he previously served as Chair of the Colorado State Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Advisory Council (SEMTAC). During his tenure, he also chaired the Public Policy and Finance and EMS Safety subcommittees.
In addition to his work with SEMTAC, Chief Dienst serves on the Medicaid Provider Rate Review Advisory Committee of the Colorado Department of Healthcare Policy and Finance. In this role, he advocates for improved Medicaid reimbursement rates for ambulance transports, as well as payments for Treatment in Place and Mobile Integrated Health services provided by Community Paramedics.
Chief Dienst is an active member of the Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado, where he serves as Treasurer and Advocacy Coordinator. He regularly engages with the Colorado State Legislature to advance paramedic practice, improve funding, and expand opportunities for EMS agencies. Previously, he served as the Colorado State NAEMT Advocacy Coordinator and continues to contribute as a committee member of the NAEMT Economic, Advocacy, and Finance Committees.
Outside of his professional commitments, Chief Dienst enjoys skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and spending quality time in the mountains and on the beaches with his wife, Liz, their two dogs, Fynn and Blue, and their two cats, Mia and Chloe.
