Congressman Phil Roe (TN-1) became the most recent co-sponsor of the Field EMS Quality, Innovation, and Cost Effectiveness Improvements Act of 2013 (H.R. 809). The legislation addresses the challenges plaguing field emergency medical services (EMS). Congressman Roe noted, “EMS providers are an under appreciated, but critical part of our nation’s health care infrastructure, and I am grateful for their hard work. I am hopeful this legislation will help improve the quality and coordination of care with other providers.”
The Field EMS Bill was introduced by Congressman Larry Buschon (IN-8) on February 25, 2013. The legislation currently carries nine co-sponsors.
