A campaign for EMS and Health Information Technology (HIT) was announced by the Emergency
Care Coordination Center (ECCC) of ASPR, a public forum for HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. Announced in conjunction with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), the campaign seeks to
connect emergency care, EMS and HIT communities to share and discuss pilot projects, concepts and initiatives related to health information exchange.
In February, ASPR and ONC hosted a meeting that brought together members of the emergency care and EMS
community, emergency care software vendors, and government agencies to discuss issues and successes surrounding connectivity to the health information exchanges. A piece on this topic was posted in the ASPR blog on February
20th (click here to view) and in the ONC blog on March 18th
