The theme for this year’s National Preparedness Month is “Be Disaster Aware, Take
Action to Prepare.” Since its inception in 2004,
National
Preparedness Month is observed each September to encourage Americans to
take steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools, and
communities.
FEMA's Ready Campaign, the correlating public education outreach
campaign, disseminates information to help the general public prepare for and
respond to emergencies, including natural disasters and potential terrorist
attacks. Help your community prepare - head over to
Ready.gov/September for more information about National Preparedness Month, including weekly breakdowns and many other
resources as we move towards September! The 2014 National Preparedness Month
logo and toolkit will be coming soon!
