Heightman, MPA, EMT-P, Editor of the Journal of Emergency Medicine (JEMS) provided his perspective in his November issue editorial, “Forgotten Soldiers.” In it, he speaks passionately about EMS practitioners who, like the military, stand equipped and ready to respond to every patient in their time of need, but also who receive minimal (or no) funding to do so.
