On Feb. 28, a letter signed by NAEMT and eight other EMS organizations was sent to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Alex Azar, urging that an agency within the Department act as the enforcement authority for regulations contained in the Ryan White Act. The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009 includes an important provision that establishes notification requirements for emergency responders who have been exposed to life-threatening diseases. View letter
