NAEMT sent a letter of appreciation to Reps. Greg Gianforte (R-MT) and David Loebsack (D-IA) for their introduction of H.R. 5429, the Supporting and Improving Rural EMS Needs (SIREN) Act. This legislation would create a needed grant program for EMS agencies in rural areas to support their efforts in addressing the opioid epidemic and to support challenges in recruitment, retention, education, and equipment for EMS personnel. NAEMT also acknowledges the advocacy efforts of our members and advocacy committee in continuing the momentum of this important legislation. We are grateful for all who have taken action in support of the SIREN Act.
