NYC Mayor de Blasio’s recent comments regarding EMS pay has lit up social media.  NAEMT was the first national EMS organization to go on record advocating for equitable EMS pay.  Read NAEMT’s position statement here.

NAEMT continues to advocate for a sustainable EMS financing structure that enables EMS agencies to build and maintain a resilient EMS workforce with the education, skills, and equipment required to respond to the out-of-hospital healthcare needs of their communities and to all types of disasters, both natural and manmade.  Sustainable financing should include fair reimbursement for the care and transport of emergent patients, and new streams of reimbursement for preventive patient care and navigation.
