The NAEMT Board of Directors and Advocacy Committee have advocated assertively to include EMS practitioners on the front lines of the coronavirus in legislation and funding relief programs available to other healthcare providers. Letters have been sent in the past month to the
President and to leaders in:
- Congress – U.S. Senate and House leaders
- CMS – Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services
- HHS – Department of Health and Human Services
- DHS – Department of Homeland Security
- DOJ – Department of Justice
- Congress – U.S. Senate and House leaders
NAEMT also published a national press
release describing our dire situation and conducted several interviews with national press and local news stations. We will continue to apply pressure to ensure EMS practitioners receive the protection and funding needed to sustain themselves and their EMS agencies during this pandemic.
