This webinar will help you prepare to submit an application for the SIREN Act grants for rural EMS agencies administered by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration under HHS. The SIREN Act grant program provides grants to directly support rural EMS agencies in recruiting and training personnel and purchasing equipment and supplies for everything from PPE, naloxone and first aid kits, to power stretchers or new ambulances.
The webinar will review required registrations, eligibility requirements, required and allowable activities, data collection, and performance measurements. Presenters:
Dave Hansher serves as the Deputy Chief of the Ute Pass Regional Health Service District in Colorado.He is an experienced grant writer who has written several successful state and local grants with a 100% award rate. A native of Colorado Springs, Dave began his EMS career in 1998 and joined Ute Pass Regional Health Service in 2000. He is an adjunct instructor for multiple agencies and has served as a guest lecturer since 2008.
Arren Gavin is an EMT with Ute Pass Regional Health Service District in Colorado and provides administrative support to the agency.She has worked with small businesses since 2007. In 2020 she wrote a successful SIREN grant application.
