We are pleased to report that Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) introduced a NAEMT supported bill, S. 2037, the Protecting Access to Ground Ambulance Medical Services Act of 2021, which is the Senate companion bill to H.R. 2454 that was introduced by Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL).
S. 2037 and H.R. 2454 would extend the temporary Medicare ground ambulance increases of 2% urban, 3% rural and the super rural bonus payment for five years and help ensure that rural zip codes remain rural under the Medicare fee schedule following the upcoming zip code reclassification based on 2020 Census data.
