Legislative Priorities

NAEMT current legislative priorities include:

Supporting the development of the EMS workforce, its integration in all federal emergency and healthcare plans and initiatives, and improvements in quality patient care.
Ensuring that EMS has sustainable financing.
Implementing the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine’s recommendations for zero preventable trauma deaths and ensuring that EMS has adequate tools and training as a key part of the trauma system.
Other issues important to our profession and our patients. NAEMT reviews and monitors all pending federal legislation that impacts EMS and determines if these bills should be supported by the association, and if so, at what level.
