NAEMT Advocates for EMS Practitioners at National Meetings

As part of our strategic plan, NAEMT is promoting the interests of EMS practitioners to other national EMS organizations and federal agencies impacting the work of EMS practitioners and the patients they serve.

  • On December 18, 2008, NAEMT Director Dennis Rowe and NAEMT Advocacy Committee Chairman Kurt Krumperman represented NAEMT at a meeting in Washington, D.C. called by the Department of Health and Human Services on Anthrax and First Responder protection.
  • Immediate Past President Jerry Johnston represented NAEMT at the annual conference of the National Association of EMS Physicians from January 22-23, 2009. Johnston reported to the NAEMSP Board on the work carried out by NAEMT in 2008.
  • On February 2-3, 2009, President Pat Moore represented NAEMT at the National Transportation Safety Board’s public hearing on air medical transport safety in Washington, D.C. NAEMT submitted our new position statement on this issue to the NTSB as documentation for the hearing.
