Dear Members,
 
Today, we honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the great impact he had on improving race relations in the United States. This day of remembrance offers all of us the opportunity to reflect on the diversity within our association and the EMS community.
 
Diversity is a hallmark of NAEMT. Our members come from different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, and serve in different environments and in various types of EMS agencies. Our diversity provides the perspective to help us meet the evolving needs of our EMS profession. It is a powerful tool that should be shared with the entire EMS community.

Please join me in honoring the legacy of Dr. King by reaching out to diverse communities throughout our nation to welcome their EMS practitioners to NAEMT. In doing so, you will help make our organization even stronger by ensuring that everyone in EMS feels welcome in NAEMT.
