California Gov. Edmund Brown vetoed AB 3115, a bill that would restrict the development of community paramedicine (CP) in California. NAEMT sent a letter to the CA legislature opposing this bill due to the restrictions that it would have placed on communities attempting to improve patient care through CP innovations. In vetoing the bill, Governor Brown noted his support for CP programs, authorized the continuance of the pilots, and urged all stakeholders to find a way to make CP permanent in California, without the restrictions contained in AB 3115.
