Dr. Matthew Levy is an EMS and academic emergency medicine physician with nearly three decades of experience, who began his career as a frontline EMS clinician and has served as an EMT, paramedic, training officer and now medical director. He is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Surgery at Johns Hopkins and serves as the Deputy Director of Operational Medicine within the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is the Chief Medical Officer and EMS Medical Director of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and the Central Maryland (Region III) EMS Medical Director for the State of Maryland. In addition, he actively participates in various local, state, federal, and international public and private organizations related to prehospital, operational, and disaster medical care.
